Bio

Suzanne Koucheravy is a Pilates Instructor certified by the National Pilates Certification Program. Her teacher-training program was completed with Polestar Education, a Pilates education system that focuses on the rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation needs of clients in the therapeutic and fitness settings. Suzanne has been on the staff of Body Dynamics Inc since 2006 as a personal trainer specializing in chronic health issues and dance rehabilitation. Her interest in scoliosis lead her to pursue more in-depth understanding of spine disorders. She has been an Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner since 2013 and Master Scolio-Pilates® Instructor 2018 teaching and assisting at workshops, mentoring and seeing clients privately. Suzanne continued education includes Dance Medicine Education Initiative Module 1 with Andrea Zujko, Teacher Training Level 1 , 2 and Pointe Intensive, with Lisa Howell B.Phty, Pilates for Neurological Conditions Washington DC, Pilates Adaptations for People with Scoliosis using Schroth Principles. Suzanne was invited to present a lecture, poster and movement session on "Understanding the Dancer with Scoliosis " at the IADMS International conference in Montreal October 2019 In 2020, "Dancers and Scoliosis" was created and taught virtually. Suzanne graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Theater from Kansas State University. She has over 25 years performing and teaching dance (Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University, Maryland Youth Ballet, The Washington Ballet, George Mason University). She has successfully helped many dancers and non-dancers overcome the complications of scoliosis to reach their goals on the stage or off.
