Bio

Helena holds a BEd(Hons) in Dance. Her initial training was at the Pauline Howard School of Dance. Here she studied RAD Ballet, ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap and National. Helena is one of a small number of people to hold a degree initiated by LCDD (the training college for the ISTD). At college she trained in Cecchetti Ballet, discovered a love for Graham and Cunningham contemporary techniques as well as for choreography and studied Classical Indian dance with Shobana Jeyasingh. She undertook further training at the RAD. She has taught ballet in private studios, GCSE and A Level Dance and Theatre Studies in the maintained and private sectors, was a visiting lecturer in Dance at De Montfort University, Head of Performing Arts, teacher assessor and mentor and a drama examiner. She is also a registered teacher with bbodance. After a career break to develop her other eclectic interests, Helena returned to passing on her love of all things dance.
