Bio

Katie Wakeford began her dance training at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill in 1981. After graduating from high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (previously the North Carolina School of the Arts), she performed with Pennsylvania-Milwaukee Ballet, Buffalo Ballet and Charleston Ballet Theater. Katie joined the Ballet School faculty in 1993 and became a partner in 1999. Katie is a member of the Chapel Hill Dance Theater artistic staff. She studied with Lisa Howell in the summer of 2017.
