COURSE OVERVIEW

There is often a huge variation in both anatomical makeup and technical capacity of students within one class, making it very challenging for ballet teachers to progress groups of dancers onto pointe. While some dancers struggle specifically with pointe range, others may need help with managing hypermobility and developing dynamic stability. Failing to address these issues before progressing onto pointe often results in these dancers struggling to progress or developing chronic injuries.

Assessing the individual dancer thoroughly before going on pointe is absolutely paramount to success en pointe and is slowly becoming more commonplace in dance schools around the world. Having a clear system that allows you to accurately identify areas of weakness, tightness and instability in a dancer allows us to give them specific exercises that will help optimise their function.

The Perfect Pointe System is a comprehensive program designed to equip dance teachers with everything you need to develop an effective pre-pointe program for all dancers within your studio, either in private lessons or in a group setting. We have included a two year pre-pointe plan to ensure that every student develops the strength and mobility requirements needed to progress onto pointe safely and reduce the likelihood of injury. The Perfect Pointe System is also ideal for Health Professionals to learn the specifics that need to be covered in order to assess a pre-pointe student for pointe work.
